Melukote is a historic town in Karnataka, India, known for its ancient temples and it's a popular pilgrimage place.
Where Is It?
It is in pandavapura taluk of Mandya district, Karnataka,in southern India.It is about 30 miles(48 km)from Mysore and 97 miles(156 km) from Bangalore.
The temple's history
Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple, also known as Selva Pillai or Thirunarayanapuram, is a temple in Melkote. The temple lies on the foothills of Melkote and is associated with the Yoga Narasimha temple built on rocky hills which overlook the Kaveri valley. The temple is classified one among the 108 Abhimana Kshethram of Vaishnavate tradition. yoga narasimha temple have around 400 steps.
The temple legend associates the place as the worship place of Vishnu by Brahma. The temple in its current form was constructed during the 11th century. In modern times, the temple is maintained and administered by the Hindu Religious Charitable Endowment Department, Government of Karnataka.
And In melukote there is 108 kola.
My experience
After visiting tirupati in morning, we headed headed to melukote.We reached Melukote in the evening, checked into the room,and freshened up. We then visited Ganesha temple and later had a lunch which is prepared by my dad's friend.After that,we
Came back to the room and we slept early.
##Day 2
We woke up early a 5 am and took a bath in kola.we then visited the Cheluvanarayana Swamy Temple and returned to our room.The ladies prepared for a Pooja, and we all had prasada. Following the Pooja,we witnessed a traditional ritual. Meanwhile,the men are prepared a Lunch.
## Exploring Melukote
While the men were busy in cooking,we children claimed the hill to visit the Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple. After coming back from the hill we found a stunning spot it was just amazing and we spent a couple of hours soaking in the beauty of surroundings. And we arrived to room.
Once the food was ready, we offered prayers, placed the items before God, and had a delicious lunch in a circle.
In the afternoon, we visited Akka tangi kola and Danushkotte. In Danushkotte, The air, The views, and the overall experience was really beautiful and captivating. As the sun began to set, we reluctantly bid farewell to Melukote and headed back home, reaching out destination by night.

* You have to get ticket (small fee)
*Timings:It is open to visitors from 7:30 am to 8 pm daily, with a lunch break from 1: 30 pm to 3:30 pm.

CONCLUSION:
Melukote is a beautiful and historic place worth visiting.
